Of course I've lost everything. I have an older exported bookmark.html file from May that I can restore to recover old bookmarks I've saved, but will have lost any newer ones.

If you just renamed the roaming "Opera Software" folder and still have the old one, in "Opera Stable\Default", you can delete the "Bookmarks", "BookmarksExtras" and "Bookmarks.bak" files and copy (not move, so you still have the originals) over the old ones to get all your bookmarks back (as long as nothing is corrupted with those bookmark files).

You can instead use https://rongjiecomputer.github.io/chrome/bookmark-recovery/#windows to scan the old "Bookmarks" file in the renamed "Opera Software" folder to convert the bookmarks in it to an HTML file that you can import.
