I’d strongly support the feature requested in the post above: switching tabs by scrolling over the tab bar.

Firefox already offers this via toolkit.tabbox.switchByScrolling, and it is an exceptionally convenient, fast and intuitive way to navigate between tabs:

Scroll up → previous tab Scroll down → next tab Only when the cursor is over the tab bar

This has been requested by Opera users multiple times, so I’m wondering: why has this feature continued to be overlooked?

Even if Opera doesn’t want to expose it as a standard setting, could it at least be implemented behind an experimental flag (e.g. opera://flags)? The functionality already exists in Firefox, and Chromium/Opera’s tab UI should technically be capable of supporting the same interaction.

It’s a small feature, but one that can make tab navigation noticeably faster and more natural for mouse users. Please consider finally giving it a chance.
