Scroll on Tab Bar to switch tabs

It would be a practical addition to have an option in Opera and OperaGX to switch tabs by scrolling the mouse wheel while hovering over the Tab Bar.
This feature allows for quicker navigation through open tabs without the need for precise clicking. It’s a simple, functional tweak that would improve the browsing experience for users who multitask with many tabs.
Hope the team can consider adding this to the settings!

I’d strongly support the feature requested in the post above: switching tabs by scrolling over the tab bar.
Firefox already offers this via
toolkit.tabbox.switchByScrolling, and it is an exceptionally convenient, fast and intuitive way to navigate between tabs:- Scroll up → previous tab
- Scroll down → next tab
- Only when the cursor is over the tab bar
This has been requested by Opera users multiple times, so I’m wondering: why has this feature continued to be overlooked?
Even if Opera doesn’t want to expose it as a standard setting, could it at least be implemented behind an experimental flag (e.g.
opera://flags)? The functionality already exists in Firefox, and Chromium/Opera’s tab UI should technically be capable of supporting the same interaction. It’s a small feature, but one that can make tab navigation noticeably faster and more natural for mouse users. Please consider finally giving it a chance.
