RE: [Solved] Opera does not import passwordsOpera for Windows
Got It !
I enabled the import passwords in Opera flags - clicked the 3 dots against passwords - import - a panel came up showing my files - clicked the CSV file - Chrome passwords which I had exported and saved from Chrome and all my passwords came up in Opera !!
Problem sorted and thank you so much for your help.

@leocg said in Opera does not import passwords:
@johnbull44 Any difference if you import through opera://settings/passwords?
Can you import the passwords in other Chromium based browsers?
I have tried to import passwords to Opera using all kinds of methods but they all fail.
No problem importing passwords to my other browsers.
I do not favour fiddling about with importing a CSV file. Not worth the effort. -
RE: [Solved] Opera does not import passwordsOpera for Windows
If I use Settings import passwords, It only acts a split second, says DONE and has done nothing.

@leocg said in Opera does not import passwords:
opera://settings/importData
They never worked either.

@naheed said in Opera does not import passwords:
First, in chrome settings, go to export passwords, then you can import passwords in two ways:
Go to the URL opera://settings/import data and import your passwords from Chrome. While importing passwords, make sure that the Chrome is closed.
You can also import the CSV file; in Opera://settings/passwords, the "import" option will be available.I placed "opera://settings/import data " in the URL and nothing happened.

RE: [Solved] Opera does not import passwordsOpera for Windows
Until Opera comes into line with other browsers, I will give it a miss.
Fiddling about with various commends and creating a CSV file on Chrome is simply not worth the effort when Chrome and Edge are superb browsers with no problems whatsoever. -
[Solved] Opera does not import passwordsOpera for Windows
Whilst I consider Opera as being a really well designed browser, it is completely useless since I cannot import my passwords from Chrome. So I have to have either Chrome or MS Edge as my browsers.
Is there a remote possibility that the Opera controllers will ever rectify this serious fault and come into line with other browsers ?

RE: Cant import passwords from Chrome.Opera for Windows
I have tried to import my Chrome passwords from Chrome several times but they just will not import. All my bookmarks do, but it is no use having all my sites available with no auto-fill passwords.
I know this topic has been covered before, but will somebody kindly describe how I can get these passwords nicely planted and available for auto-fill in Opera. Otherwise Opera is no use to me.
I had no trouble importing my Chrome passwords into Microsoft Edge. Went smoothly with no problems. -
RE: [Solved] My Opera Will Not UpdateOpera for Windows
Sorry my mistake - it is 160 not 106.
So the running of 154 did solve my problem. it obviously over-wrote any hiccups and kept all my data.
My thanks to all posters.
Problem solved. -
RE: [Solved] My Opera Will Not UpdateOpera for Windows
I downloaded Opera version 70.0.3728.154 and ran it - it installed with no problems.
My Opera was identical to my layout and no data had been lost or moved.
But ! Yes it now updates OK, but says my updated version is 70.0.3728.106 not
70.0.3728.154 !!! What happened to 154 I do not know

[Solved] My Opera Will Not UpdateOpera for Windows
Windows 10 version 1909
Opera version = 70.0.3728.106
Opera will not update.
I am told the latest version is 70.0.3728.144 !! Which means it has not been updating for some time.
Please advise how I can get it to update. -
Windows 10 - Sound EnhancementLounge
My hearing is below average and I could not hear event sounds sufficiently.
I discovered the following adjustment, which has made an enormous difference.
I hear these sounds very clearly now. This is mainly for Realtek Drivers. But it should work on other drivers.
Just ensure your drivers are up-to-date.- Using the Start menu search box, enter Control Panel and open the file.
- Click Hardware and Sound and then click Sound.
- In the settings panel that comes up click Playback and right click on Speakers. Click Properties.
- Click Enhancements. Scroll down the list and check Loudness Equalisation.
- Click OK.
Whilst having the sounds settings panel displayed, test your sound.
Click Sounds, a list of sound events shows. For my example, I scrolled down the list and selected New Mail Notification. Click Test and the sound will occur. Mine was a lot higher than before this adjustment and is now perfect for me.
My clock chimes every hour. Before this small fix, I could barely hear it or that for new mails, I can hear it now.

RE: Opera VPN = HTTPS proxy setup.Lounge
@tobymitchell said in Opera VPN = HTTPS proxy setup.:
So the opera browser VPN is actually a HTTPS proxy and not a real VPN, but for performance purposes - it seems to work really well.
unfortunately my ISP blocks the domains opera uses to connect to this https proxy and I wanted to know how I can setup a HTTPS proxy of my own and use with browser like Opera or firefox.does someone have experience with this? i dont need encryption, just high performance.
This question is not really relevant to a browser Forum, but better asked on a computer Forum.
I suggest you post it on - https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/ -
RE: Opera VPN = HTTPS proxy setup.Lounge
So Opera VPN is a browser proxy, well all I can say is that it is a very good one
and is many, many times better than nothing, very convenient and it is free.I use it all the time and feel really happy that my IP and personal details are
completely hidden in some fictitious location elsewhere on the planet. If you are paranoid about security, then life on the Internet must be really miserable.
I use Sandboxie a virtual environment program, Avast my AV, PrivateFirewall my firewall
and Opera with its VPN/proxy. If security demands more than that, then quite frankly
"to hell with it".
