I believe the Opera's inbuilt adblocker is not enough, or is weak, or has holes in it. One has to install Ublock Origin extensions to get the full adblocking.

How to get rid of the ads in Gmail Promotions, Social tabs?Opera for Mac
How to get rid of the ads in Gmail Promotions, Social tabs in Opera? They appear only in Opera, but not in Safari or Vivaldi?
It is, of course, easy to delete those two tabs, but sometimes, there are interesting info in them.

RE: What happened to "Right Click: (word) > Look Up" when you want to define a word?Opera for Mac
@greyeyezz
It is much faster with Aria. Less clicks. All you have to do is highlight the word, or a sentence, the popup will come and Aria will "explain briefly." -

@greyeyezz
To get that you need to use Safari.
But, in Opera, you can get this,Anyway, Opera's Aria is quite good at "looking up the words"

@jripy
You mean this?If you click Explain briefly, Explore topic, Aria will come out and give you a reply. Or you'd get a translation, if that's what you want.

RE: How to use Tab Islands in Opera BrowserBlogs
@leocg said in How to use Tab Islands in Opera Browser:
@ichanath There never was tab groups in Opera Chromium.
So, Aria is mistaken.

RE: Opera is not requesting location serviceOpera for Mac
@girard
System Settings > Privacy & Security > Location Services and enable Opera. Google Maps would work. -
RE: How to use Tab Islands in Opera BrowserBlogs
@leocg: If you've got few such 'islands' how are you going to remember which one is which?
Aria says there is something called Tab Groups and to enable that in opera://flags, but there isn't any Tab Groups there. Any ideas?

RE: Opera 68.0.3618.165 Stable updateBlogs
@leocg I am writing from Opera. I use it daily. I forgot a password, and that's why I looked in the password section. When I clicked on the eye icon, it simply showed the password. Didn't ask the OS password to show it. This is a serious bug in a web browser.
-
RE: Opera 68.0.3618.165 Stable updateBlogs
@leocg: No, it is not. Anyone can get at the passwords. The "encrypted" should not be seen with one click on the eye icon. Opera should ask the password for the OS for that. I checked the same with Vivaldi. It asks, Opera doesn't.
Actually, the question is for the Opera staff/developers.

Why the saved passwords can be seen by anyone in Opera? If someone's laptop is stolen, all his/her passwords would be known to the thief.

RE: Opera acts differently in different ubuntu distrosOpera for Linux
I suppose you are right. In KDE (I have XFCE with Kwin) in Aliya Linux, that is based on Debian Stretch and in KDE Neon (Ubuntu), the menu is quite nice and I can have no border. In Ubuntu with Openbox (Nelum Openbox), also I can un-decorate. In Devuan (Nelum-Dev-1 Testing), it can also un-decorate. If the Ubuntu based distro has Gala Window Manager, it can't. Once there is no border, the minimize and maximize buttons go away. This doesn't happen in Windows 10. Maybe, the Opera devs take heed. I'm now using Opera Beta, for in a few days, it'd become 45 final.

Opera acts differently in different ubuntu distrosOpera for Linux
Opera 44.0.2510.1449 on Ubuntu 16.04 Xenial.
Opera acts differently in different ubuntu distros, meaning in one right click on the title bar opens up a menu that has un-decorate, whereas another install doesn't have that. No fall down menu. I have no idea how that happens. -
RE: Opera goes off from time to timeOpera for Windows
Does any Opera dev reads comments here? If devs don't read, there's no use asking questions.
