@burnout426
I'm really confused... I restarted my Laptop this AM, and things seem to be working but not the same as it did a few months earlier(?). Oh well... WTH

RE: Light Gray TextOpera for Windows
@orbsphere, I tried disabling all the extensions in my Opera and lo & behold everything was there. Then I enabled just the Opera ad blocker and MCTB... It works now! Thank you very much for the assistance...!!! It really is appreciated.

RE: Light Gray TextOpera for Windows
Hey @orbsphere - I just disabled Opera ad-blocker & youtube ad-blocker a7 now comments shows up! Oh well I hate ads so will do without comments!

RE: Light Gray TextOpera for Windows
@orbsphere - I don't have that option...or I can't find it! see attached. I have a Youtube ad-blocker. Maybe why? I tried to upload a screenshot but no-go...

@orbsphere
I looked at your Win effort, but the text is still small(skinny) where MCTB I can make it thicker for my old eyes. You are correct about MCTB changing the layout etc, in some websites. I just keep playing with it so I can at least "Read" it!
The light gray is for the birds, even magazines are doing it. Maybe it is just a form of censorship for old folks...!!! On Youtube I don't see my comments anymore (MCTB doing that?).
Anyway thanks again for responding, much appreciated..!! -

@orbsphere ,
Easier to use MCTB (Make Chrome Text Black) for me. Also easy to toggle back and forth! But thanks for the info... -
Text color and background colorSuggestions and feature requests
Here's an idea, Make slider adjustments inside Opera Browser to vary text and background colors. All this gray on gray is making me (and others!!) go blind with eye strain! I am using "Make Chrome Text Black" by Jarrad O'Brien, but this should be built into Opera.

Permission setting for Opera to play sound?Opera for Windows
When I start google Voice in Opera Stable I get this: "Your browser might prevent calls from ringing. Change your browser settings to allow voice.google.com to play sound. (Learn more)" This just started two weeks ago. I have done the "Learn more" and same thing... However my Opera Beta does not do this.
HP Notebook 15ay x64, Windows 10 x64, Opera Stable x64, Opera Beta x64, Google Phone box. All my phones & PC rings just fine. I would like to just get rid of this error message.
Thanks in Advance... JohnnyLee -
RE: Light Gray TextOpera for Windows
I have a HP Laptop, Intel graphics, Gamma is 2.2, not able to adjust.
So I went ahead and purchased the "Make Chrome Text Black" extension for my Opera browser.
It works very good! So many adjustments, no more problems reading text..!!
This is what Opera should put into their browser...!!!
My eyes are thanking me every few minutes! -

Here is the skinny...How the Web Became Unreadable...
I thought my eyesight was beginning to go. It turns out, I’m suffering from design.https://www.wired.com/2016/10/how-the-web-became-unreadable/
All this BS is ok, we just need to be able to customize the text in our browser to suit us personally.
Even this blog is difficult to read. (hint: gray text).I guess I will have to break down and purchase " Make Chrome Text Black " https://makechrometextblack.com/
So what's $20 now? .25 cents? Sigh...Thanks @orbsphere,
Have a great(gray) day...!!!****** -
RE: Light Gray TextOpera for Windows
@orbsphere
I do zoom like you suggest, but the gray is just terrible. Opera should have a key-board "make text darker" like (ctrl +) does for zoom.
Or windows should have something similar...
Geeezzz, have you ever seen a book with "light gray text"...
The "worst" programmers quirky decision yet, IMHO... - Opera for Windows

RE: Light Gray TextOpera for Windows
Re: Light Gray Text
I found it...!!! By adding 2 or 3 extensions from Chrome:
1> Darken text, Version 1.1 ( thirdreplicator@gmail.com)
2> Darker Medium, Version 1.3.8 by wowmotty
3> Make Chrome Text Black, Version 1.1Not perfect but at least an 85% improvement. Who ever thought that "Light Gray Text" was easier on the eyes should be slapped and sent home...!!!
