I've recently updated to Opera 45.0.2552.898.
Now the side bar cannot be hidden anymore. It is always visible on the start page.
When another page is open, it disappears. But the hide button is gone. There is only a freeze option now.
Have I missed a now hidden option?

Also: I was trying to get back the former menu bar on top. In previous versions one could chose to hide the dropdown menu and instead get a bar on top of the window that contained bookmarks and also the menu.

And thirdly: previously one could enable the deleting of the history on shutdown of the browser.
Where is this handy function gone?

Ich verstehe Opera nicht mehr (42.0).
Bisher konnte man in der Lesezeichenverwaltung Lesezeichen hin und her schieben in andere Ordner.
Diese Funktion scheint verschwunden zu sein.

Und wie exportiert man eigentlich Lesezeichen?
Sieht so aus, als geht man neuerdings einfach nur in die bookmarks.adr (bzw. speddial.ini).

Why am I getting this?
I have not specified any proxy (and actually you can't in Opera- or can you? It tells me is uses system proxy without giving me a choice!), no system proxy either.

On second / third attempt it usually opens the page. Sometimes it doesn't though.

It also won't let me adjust the number of speeddial columns. Haven't tried the speeddial.ini but do I have to?

I was trying to export my bokmarks and so far have only found the import function. So that's also gone. It seems, I need to go through the profile folder.

I cannot set a proxy either as Opera claims it uses the global proxy settings (which do not exist).
I have recently been testing I2P Services and since then it won't connect at all anymore (other browsers work fine).

Has Opera really gone down the drain that much? I'm not at all impressed with those "improvements".
This is something that can typically make users sceptical of updates....

Opera has really gone down the drain. Been using it for years but that's a divorce now- whether it's for Windows or for nix.

I'd like to get rid of the menue button and have the menu bar back again.
It's Opera 39 for Linux. Can't find the category for that.

How do I do that?

And how do I get rid of the side bar for bookmarks, settings etc...?
