I just played around with the new Bookmarks setup on Opera Developers v28.

Very nice setup I must say; you can even create some sort of hidden from view Folder with links within by using this Extension button on top of the default setup >>

Classic Context Menus

https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/classic-context-menus/

If you write any Folder name & place this in front < & this in the back > of any folder name:

Example:

My Folder = This will show the name in the (Classic Context Menus) listing normally.

If you write the folder name with an arrow on front and on the back like this <My Folder> it will hide the name from the listing & only the icon shows & if you hover over the icon long enough it will show the Folder name.

It looks like a blank but it is not.

Then I found a folder name section within the Bookmarks data file called "speedDial".
Any bookmark added under this Folder name will not show anywhere in the default bookmarks folder listing.

So any entry under this speedDial folder will only be accessible from the Classic Context Menu button.

Nice!

One more thing ...... if I look at the Bookmarks setup; this is exactly what is needed for the Send to Notes to recreate the original Opera function.

All it needs some small tweaks I think; so you can send some short snipped Notes to it & past from notes via the context menu item access.

Theoretically the Bookmarks & Send to Notes could be combined within the Bookmarks data system setup.

All it would need is the context menu buttons & its own folder name within the Bookmarks data file structure setup.

Same thing sub-folders can be created as you can create them for bookmarks.

When I talk Notes; I mean short Names, addresses, Email addresses, links, names & short text messages which can be copied to Notes & paste back from Notes via context menu button & all gets stored within the the Bookmarks data file under its own Folder & Sub-folders. Even if things are deleted from Notes it can go to the Trash first before final deleting.

As it was before.

I'm sure this could be integrated within the Bookmarks setup without changing much at all.

Lets hope someone in the design department will have a short look at this option just for fun............

I wished I had more knowledge about this extension creation & Java scripting.

I'm sure I would come up with something feasible & practice to get the Send to Notes working again by using the basic bookmarks setup & the Note data gets stored within the Bookmarks data file.
