A glaring step back, unfortunately, is that open tabs are not cached to disk any more, resulting in blank cards of death when reopening the app in an area without network coverage. Opera Mini 8 (unlike version 7) seems to only save open tabs to RAM and iOS is pretty ruthless in freeing that bad boy up. I know there's a "Save for Offline" option but that was designed for saving single webpages and can be a little tedious for saving all open tabs (and one would have to remember to do this).

A solution could be a setting allowing a threshold of disk space in megabytes to use for caching currently open tabs. Perhaps this could even be an automatic option when using the "Opera Mini" data saving mode, as I presume even less disk space would be required?
