Got printer working with Opera after installing a Brother driver for printing and for scanning.
Printing seems to work now. However still can't get new printer to scan.

Have Opera Version:64.0.3417.92, Opera is up to date.
Got a new Brother laser printer HL-L 2390DW.
Installed it with Windows 10 and it runs fine.

Installed Brother printer on my desktop running Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS and it runs, scans, copies fine using Firefox, Chrome and Vivaldi browsers but can't get it to work with Opera Version:64.0.3417.92.

Help.
What needs to be done to get this Brother laser printer working with Opera 64?

Happy to report Opera is working fine today when using Opera VPN. Can get on the Internet with no problem. Don't know what happened yesterday when nothing would connect when using VPN in spite of VPN looking to be enabled.

Been having this problem all day now with Ubuntu 18.04.
Opera works/runs fine until I turn on Opera VPN. When VPN is turned on I keep getting this page below. This message below comes up when all 5 county regions are selected. Nothing works. All sites visited refuse to open.

When VPN is turned off, all sites visited work and load again fine.
Yesterday Opera VPN was working fine. Today nothing works when using Opera VPN. To use the Internet now I have to keep Opera VPN turned off.

A little while ago when using Opera VPN this message comes up:

No internet
No internet

ERR_INTERNET_DISCONNECTED

When Opera's VPN is turned off, everything works fine again.

What's happening?

Will be more descriptive in the future.

Wish this change was not made. The old way was much easier where it was easy to load internal pages from your bookmarks when in private mode.

Just started using it. Glad videos play!

However when going to 'Private browsing' my bookmarks no longer open in private, they go back non-private. Earlier versions allowed all your bookmarks to be viewed in private if you wanted. Is there a way to still do this with Opera 60 when using the Private Window?

Videos still play fine. Showing the current 'Chromium Codecs extra' I have installed now.

Now this below is the OP codecs extra that did not play videos from 15 days ago! Why?

Opera Version:58.0.3135.117 Opera is up to date but Videos don't play, was the Opera version run 15 days ago.

Opera Version:58.0.3135.127 is the version running today. Is this the reason videos now play?

Today my problem was solved. After updates were installed videos now play again for Opera Version:58.0.3135.127.

Well I have an interim solution until Opera 58 corrects this chronic video issue. My main PC has a couple extra drives on it with older versions on Linux and they still have the older Opera 56 version that plays all vids fine. Don't believe Opera lets you go back to older Opera versions anymore but I have them. Just will make sure NOT to upgrade Opera 56 while running this older version and I'm good to go.

Updated to Vivaldi 2.4.1488.35 (Stable channel) (64-bit) a few hours ago and can happily report Videos now play fine on Vivaldi, along with videos playing fine on Firefox and Chrome.

Wish Opera could do the same.

So I changed to opera but now I have the same problem with opera too. Don't know what they changed that it happens with Opera too.

Seems I need change to Vivaldi now. Vivaldi still does its job without slowing down my notebook.

Have Vivaldi and liked it because it was pretty solid but right now Vivaldi won't play videos either just like Opera won't play videos.

Firefox and Chrome play videos fine with no issues.

Well my easy solution for playing all videos until Opera gets up to speed here, is to use either Firefox or Chrome which have NONE of these chronic video issues Opera can't seem to rectify.

Agree, don't know why Opera lags so in this respect in not keeping up with chromium's releases. Firefox and Chrome have no problems here. Also have Vivaldi which as of now also does not play videos, guess they lag also.

Recall there was a fix in the past for this issue where code was given that allowed you to remove; 'chromium-codecs-ffmpeg 73' and reinstall 'chromium-codecs-ffmpeg 71' for a quick fix until Opera fixed this issue. Is that option still around and will it still work now?

Here we go again. Videos ran fine yesterday. Today no videos play!
However with Firefox and Chrome videos run fine.

Was trying to do that but can't. Seems the destination space is locked out & unresponsive and am not able to make any of those changes needed.

Can't print with Opera 58. When right clicking I get a preview and all goes to 'Save as PDF'.
Can't figure out how to change that so my printer can be used. What needs to be done?

When using Firefox and Chrome this isn't an issue. You get a choice and when print is clicked printer functions as expected printing out whatever is desired. Can't get Opera 58 to do this. Help please.

Just tried it and yep, it don't work!

Guess I'll just have to wait....

In the mean time using Chrome Firefox and Vivaldi which have no video problems.
Wish Opera would get this issue corrected.
