@thenance Try using Social Fixer instead. With it you are able to add words in posts that will hide special posts. I added "sponsored by" which zaps most of the ads. I also use AdBlocker for Facebook. Between the two, I never see an ad.

RE: Old Layout for FacebookOpera add-ons
It suddenly stopped working for me. I can't tell if I have versions 6.6 or 7.2 because both versions show up in the pop-up box.

RE: Old Layout for FacebookOpera add-ons
The Old Layout was working fine until yesterday's 6.6 update. I looked at my extensions and noticed I had an older version of The Old Layout, 6.2 or 6.3 as well as the 6.6 version. I deleted the early version and suddenly everything worked. Make sure to delete your older version. Go to Menu>Extensions>Extensions, scroll through your extensions and make sure you only have one for The Old Layout.

Hurry up and get a fix for switching to classic FB, I've had to use edge and it's so slow.
Try using The Old Layout. It works perfectly for me in Opera.

6.4 is working perfectly. I can even open it from my speed dial. Thanks.

RE: Old Layout for FacebookOpera add-ons
@mattkruse Thank you Matt. I know we all freaked out when suddenly the Old Layout didn't work. It must have been crazy for you. I couldn't live without Social Fixer and now the Old Layout. Facebook would be unbearable without your creations.

@Bowaca said in Old Layout for Facebook:
@cybergata Thanks yes that fixed it, as long as I do not use the speed dial, and just use the address bar all works well, now I have to find a way that I can use the speed dial though if I think about it is not that important, thanks mate you helped greatly. B
I'm so happy it worked for you.

RE: Old Layout for FacebookOpera add-ons
@Bowaca The one problem I had was I had a link on my speed dial. The Old Layout didn't work when I clicked on my speed dial, even after reloading the page. The same was true when I added a bookmark to the bookmarks. I found a weird way around this. I opened my bookmarks, and then from that tab, opened the speed dial bookmarks. I clicked on my link to open FaceBook, and it opened in the Old Layout. It takes a few extra steps, but to me it is worth doing so. I'm dyslexic and the New Facebook is way too busy for me to focus easily. I'm sure after feeling annoyed and crazy for months, I could adapt, but I am happy that I don't have to go through that by having the Old Layout, I have a dozen extensions I use and didn't have to disable a single one.

@cybergata: @cybergata: Now it is working. I don't know why it took about 20 minutes before it worked, but all is good in the end. I hate the New FaceBook.

RE: Opera and FaceBook problemsOpera for Windows
@leocg Of course I tried all of the mentioned. I think I will have to begin again by clearing out all my Opera data, and start from square one. I was just hoping this had happened to someone else who had a idea why it was happening. Or if anyone could help so I don't lose all the tweeks and settings I have already built into my present browser.

Opera and FaceBook problemsOpera for Windows
I use the latest upgrade of Opera (55.0.2994.44 ) on Windows 10. The problem seems to be only with facebook since I don't have it with other pages. I have no graphic, photos or videos appear, just text. This problem don't happen when I use FoxFire. I spend way too much time on FaceBook and need to fix this, but I so prefer using Opera to anything else. Plus my Opera browser is set up for everything I do on the Internet. Please help me!

RE: RE: Opera 12.18 ButtonsOpera for Windows
Many thanks to those who commented. I will try what you suggest. Presto is running great on my new computer. Although I mainly use the never version, I still find 12.18 an amazing and powerful browser. I'm sad that it has been ignored and neglected, but such is life.

RE: RE: Opera 12.18 ButtonsOpera for Windows
Do you recall the name of the folder? It is too bad that the Opera Wiki that once existed for 12.8 is gone. It was really helpful. There are still web pages that don't work with the most recent opera, but work perfectly with 12.8. I use both, and I'm sad that Opera has tried to totally wipe the previous version of Opera off the face of the Internet.

RE: RE: Opera 12.18 ButtonsOpera for Windows
I made the mistake of searching for Opera 12 buttons in the Opera 40something. I found a page with all the buttons on it at http://homepage.hispeed.ch/ttt-o/button/h-bu-mail-adv.html. It still would be nice to know if there was a way to copy the buttons from one computer to another though..

RE: Opera 12.18 ButtonsOpera for Windows
I use the newest form of Opera for most everything, but I still use 12.18 for editing. I have a new computer, so I've reinstalled both versions of Opera. The one problem for me is I love to use 12.18's custom buttons. Is there a way to copy them from one computer to the new computer? Or is there anywhere out there where I can find the 12.18's custom button?

Latest Opera Update full of Bugs on Social Networks like Tumblr & FacebookOpera for Windows
Opera 36.0.2130.32
Windows 7 64-bit
The pages crash in tumblr when adding new posts, especially when add post via web address. Since I use this option a lot on Tumblr, it makes Opera unusable to me. The old 12.15 version works, but very slowly. FireFox works as well, so this is an Opera or Chromium issue.
Facebook pages load in jumbles which looks like pieces of the pages are all over the page. -
Underlined LinksOpera for Windows
I'm sorry for asking a silly question, BUT I hate having links underlined in Opera 25. I also prefer to use the link color that the webmaster intended for use rather than always being blue. This was a simple thing to set in Opera 12 and earlier. I've looked through all the settings and looked for add-on to find this setting, but to no avail. Setting everything in the old Opera was so easy, but it seems like I have to have an entire bar just for extensions to get the never version to work a little bit like the old, which I still prefer.

RE: OLD FORUM of Opera closed down ??Opera for Windows
Any time I had a question about Opera, I'd search through the old forum. <sigh> Since I won't be using the newest version of Opera anytime, I guess these forum are of no use for me.
