Ok, I've discovered the truth about favicons - the ugly black "page folded over" favicon is replaced by the site favicon after you visit the site, so that's cool.

Apparently, the people at Opera don't want people with older operating systems to use their browser.

There are older versions somewhere but Opera does not provide easy access to them. How Come?

If a suitable version can't be found for a Macbook using operating system 10.6.8, well I guess I won't be using Opera.
