I prefer the shrinking method and in no way want opera to adopt touch screen mechanisms. Too many touchscreen based UIs out there screwing up desktop apps.

No where in the survey did it talk about customizing the UI and/or reverting back to 44 and older.
RE: Dark theme interface hard to readSuggestions and feature requests
The new UI is awful. There is very little contrast between elements making it hard to distinguish what is what.
The old UI needs to be brought back and/or further customization options added.
Revert to old UIOpera for Windows
I ditched Chrome a couple years ago and fully switched to opera for the superior UI design and better performance.
But now I see Opera going the same way as chrome with the new UI material design. First you screw up the android UI and now the desktop. This greatly upsets me.
There's no contrast between elements on the new UI, everything blends together making it very hard to differentiate tabs and causing eyestrain.
Also in the blogs you brag about going back to Windows 7 UI design, I'm on Windows 8.1 and the new UI is shoving Windows 10 UI down my throat. What a joke.
Please give a way to revert back to the old UI.
RE: New version of Opera for Android with UI overhaulOpera for Android
Please update the old interface and add it back as an option. The new interface wastes screen real estate and the refresh button, my fav feature of android opera, is gone.
Not every app needs to reflect the material design.
