New info on this issue:

A reboot doesn't fix it. The Opera process still shows in settings/battery.

This issue also occurs with other browsers, Firefox and Yandex.

I am thinking this is an Android bug (feature?).

If I can't soon find a solution for this problem I will have to move to a non-Android platform.

Opera Android 34.0.2044.98679

Even after deleting the Opera active application it shows as still running in Settings/Battery.

It slowly increases CPU usage until it reached 35% and nearly exhausted the battery.

When I see this I have to uninstall and reinstall.

Opera Android 34.0.2044.98679 & Opera Windows 34.0.2036.36

The Opera Android speed dial setup did sync to Opera Windows and shows on latter under the Bookmarks Other Speed Dials as SGH-T999.

Then had to uninstall Opera Android and reinstall it. Thinking to restore the phone speed dial setup I signed in the phone Opera using my Opera account.

The Other Speed Dials on Opera Windows showed that a second SGH-T999 was created that contained the default installation speed dial items. The phone main speed dial also showed the default items; it never updated to my speed dial setup contained in the other SGH-T999 entry.

It this a bug or a feature? If this is operating as designed then I don't understand what use it is.

I did find my speed dial setup in Other Speed Dials on the phone but each link shows with a big single letter, apparently the first letter of the name of each link. Is this a bug?
