Dumped Opera for good now and replaced with CYBERFOXOpera for Windows
Hi Opera users,
I have finally dumped Opera for good and I doubt I will ever install it ever again in the future. I was a very long time user of Opera back in the day and then I took a break as things went stale for a while. As soon as the new Opera came out I stuck with it and things were okay. Then recently the software has just because a MASSIVE RESOURCE HOG and no longer suitable for laptops in my opinion. If you want to sit there listening to your fan going like the clappers just to do simple browser tasks then feel free but I cannot especially when I know it is not necessary. If someone has a powerful desktop they may want to waste resources with Opera but if you want to save energy then find another. Reminds me of what you get when you try Linux on laptops today where they end up overheating compared to Windows machines.
So how could I fill the void of Opera? Well Palemoon would have been the route but it is not up to date and lacks that speed needed after using Opera. So after much testing I went for Cyberfox 64bit which clocks up a good 3100+ on Peacekeeper benchmark and feels fluid. I can hardly see a speed different between it and Opera and in some ways it can even feel faster. The best of all folks is that there is no hogging of resources and my fan hardly ever winds up even opening a lot of multiple tabs, try that with Opera. I do not know what in the hell is going on with Opera but its a shame it is no longer worthy of being used on a iCore5 2.6Ghz laptop.

RE: Opera 20.0.1387.77 useless at youtube streaming and site issuesOpera for Windows
I have been Opera on this same machine since I have had the machine, the machine is cleaned daily with multiple good cleaners including Privazer. Unless you can prove to me privazer has removed something of Opera's to cause such a problem I will continue to blame Opera. All other browsers work fine. I am running Windows 8.1 are you? It happens on any youtube streaming and I need to test it on another site like redtube and see if it poor on there too. So are you using a mobile iCore 5 processor in a laptop or some desktop super-powered iCore 7 or 5 with a fancy graphics card running on a big fat transformer? I first noticed an issue with Opera pulling on resources with the last developer version, so I thought I'd go with Stable and hope the nonsense would be corrected. Then I find it happening on this stable version. Annoying!

RE: Opera 20.0.1387.77 useless at youtube streaming and site issuesOpera for Windows
There is absolutely noting wrong with my HP Pavilion g6 laptop and I do not smoke either. The problem is a pathetic piece of browsing software called Opera. I told you I have zero issues with any other browser and it is downright disgusting to have my processor hammered for a poxy youtube streaming. I know about using VLC but why should we have to use external well-programmed software so badly programmed software like Opera can take the michael all the time? I cannot believe a browser with the potential of Opera cannot view youtube anymore without acting up. Let me just tell you this, I can open multiple videos on redtube at once in different tabs at the same time and still not come close to how Opera is kaning my processor. Now what annoys me is how Opera forces you to download updates, where is the switch off to stop updates. I would gladly go backwards in release to stop this nonsense but whats the point if I will be forced to upgrade to the crap again. I am just tired of Opera now and wish the old team was around instead of this new bunch. Its like this forum, it is not as good as the old one. Opera has gone backwards and the only thing I credit for these days is its amazing speeddial but then again it adds so much time to startup compared to the likes of Luna and Maxthon. I wish I could code because I would make a real browser. I think it is time we got the writer of Palemoon browser to work on a Chrome type browser instead which will destroy Opera. I used Palemoon for ages but it was clunky compared to the chrome engine, if only they would make the change.

Opera 20.0.1387.77 useless at youtube streaming and site issuesOpera for Windows
I am downright fed up with Opera now, even the Stable version is hammering my 2.5Ghz iCore5 Laptop just to play a youtube video. This is absolutely ridiculous, the processor will be kaned anywhere from 46-95%. If I use Maxthon for the same video it will use 14-25% at most and I will not have so much heat or any fan noise going on. What in the hell is going on with this browser. I only come back to it because I find flaws with other browsers but at least they do not hammer my processor to do what should be easily done. No wonder people keep upgrading hardware, it never ends with dodgy software like this overburdening everything or expecting the best of everything to be present just to do simple tasks. The sooner a good all round browser comes out the better. Even that Sleipnir is dire when you really study it, the fonts are terrible and the tabs still need work. Sort this out for god sake as I am starting to really hate Opera who also sped more time on pathetic mobile browsing now than desktop browsing. I am very angry.
I also cannot even get PCWORLD.COM to come up at all now, for a long time Opera has struggled with this website but now it just decides to tell me the page is not there but on other browsers it works perfectly. I thought using the chrome system meant more compatibility. Very tired of all this now.

RE: Is there any chance to get information about the next opera releases in year 2014?Future releases
The new Opera can handle 266 extensive tabs with ease using the Chrome system it is only this new Developer that is a resource hog. Maxthon is a great browser for small actions on the web and it is probably the best for video-streaming in multiple tabs. I like to put a browser to test by viewing videos on redtube and Maxthon wins out. So if Opera can handle multiple tabs then so should Maxthon but it cannot and can be quite poor with just a few tabs open, start opening twenty or so and the browser stumbles and will even reset and start loading the tabs again. I could not work with most of the browsers you recommended, I have tried them all and others but I've only liked the new Opera and Palemoon (at a push). I personally cannot stand Firefox it is so slow and clunky but Palemoon is a bit better to use but after using the new Opera then Palemoon seems sluggish where as it destroys the old Opera 12. I was always a massive Opera fan and I ended up giving up on Opera 12 and Presto and I went over to Palemoon which blew it away. Then when the new Opera came out I came back. I am still annoyed that Opera will not listen to the needs of the people. The old school Opera team and thinking has gone. What we need is a combination of Opera, Maxthon and Sleipnir. Opera's speeddial is absolutely amazing and bay far the best of any out there, especially since we can add sites into one box. All I want from Opera is to supply a complete browser. I think on Linux I would have to go with the Maxthon beta since I cannot stand the tab layout of Chrome when opening multiple tabs. Its funny really how we advance in tech but then end up going backwards through resource hogging just to display resource hogging sites. I can see a time when we end up with single or double tab browsing. I hated those old days of single layout browsing!

The way this browser is going I think it could end up in the toilet bowl and it is a damn shame because there is not another browser of worth out there unless Maxthon steps up its game but that has a lot of limitations when you open numerous tabs up. I could open 266 tabs on Opera but only a few on Maxthon before it bottled out. I generally use Maxthon more for simply browsing but when I do my work with all the tabs then it has always been Opera. I've gone back to Opera 19 Stable and I will not be rushing to upgrade if this CPU hogging comes along like in Developer.

Opera 21 1419 CPU hogFuture releases
I've had to dump Opera Developer and go back to Opera 19 Stable. I noticed Developer 21 1419 is not hogging my Intel i5 processor in my HP Pavilion G6. At one time I could open my wordpress site and have as many as 266 tabs open at once with no issues at all. Now I can have 25-33% of my processor being hogged and heating up my machine with 3-5 tabs open. This is just unacceptable and another annoyance meaning yet more changing over to another Opera. I dread this CPU hogging happening in the future on the Stable version, if it does then I will have to move over to Maxthon or Palemoon. I also noticed on this developer version that embedded video hardly ever works especially youtube. The PCWorld.com website struggles to come through without long waits and accepting of certificates. At one time I had zero grief with the developer series but recently its been dreadful.
By the way this new forum software is vile and not as good as the previous one. What is going on with Opera? I wish the developer of Palemoon would do his work on Chrome so we could have a proper browser.
