I'm missing status bar very much, too. And we need it.

For example with a slow connection or due to slow server response, when you click on a link, you see no status (as if nothing happening at the moment) about current connection activity, and you think that you have never clicked on the link. Then the server responds your request quite late, then page is loaded.

But during the time duration between the moment you clicked on the link and the server reponse, it makes user very nervous while you're waiting because of not seeing any info about current http connection status on traditional status bar (like connected, waiting for reply etc.).

Any basic and other browsers still have status bar too. It is one of the biggest annoyance for me about Opera.

I have an old PC running on Windows XP SP3 and as far as i know, Opera 36 is the last supported version on XP. I installed Opera 36 and working fine except JAVA, which has been dropped by Chromium community later. But when I check available pluins by checking "opera://plugins", the correct Java NPAPI (npjp2.dll) plug-in is detected just fine by Opera.

I set "Run all plug-in content" in settings menu (websites submenu), but still none of JAVA applets are being loaded. Just empty page!

So, the question, why isn't JAVA working on Opera as long as it's found and listed fine in opera://plugins list?

Any help is appreciated!

Update/Edit: I found some info that actually versions prior to Opera 34 (34 is not included) are the ones that support JAVA Plug-in. Is there any safe download location of version 32 (or 33 if there is) for me to make Java work?

Opera Mini is different and for low-end devices. But Opera Mobile was preloaded on my Galaxy phone and it seems that now it's converted Mini silently without any prompt by an update. I just wanted to confirm this.

Just tried to log in to my existing Opera Forums account from my mobile phone and noticed that the forums have been changed about 2 years ago and migrated to new layout, which I didn't know as I haven't been logged in for a long time during my inactivity period.

After entering CORRECT username and password, I was immediately faced with a page requesting my consent to collect personal data (hope not dangerous), otherwise it would not allow me to post anything. See screnshot:

My question is, was it REALLY forcibly required to give consent to use the new forum engine, or it was just me? It was behaving "as if" I am signing up newly and completing registration. After giving consent, now it is fine.

Just noticed that my Galaxy S4's Opera Mobile is now renamed as Mini after a silent update in meantime. It is with 28.0.2254 version and appears to be final version for my phone.

I am quite sure it was branded as "Opera Mobile" a few years ago but noticed now.

Can anyone confirm this?

Since Opera has chosen Chromium infrastructure, i really miss some features, even some of them is present in Google Chrome. Unlike old Opera 12.xx series, i want to:

• Be warned for confirmation when closing the browser, if there are multiple tabs open.
• Delete specific URL entry just like SHIFT+DELETE, from address bar history that appears during typing.
• Display Home (home page) button on main screen, next to address bar.
  ...etc.

All these features are extremely simple to implement and they're not re-invention of the wheel. Why did Opera developers choose not to implement these? No extension is required for these basic features, as well.

I've been using new (Chromium) version of Opera for a long time and it was great to work with Opera Dragonfly before. Now when i launch Developer Tools, i don't see any tab related to Javascript debugging such as "Scripts".

Here is my screenshof of current view:

Sources / Resources / Console doesn't make sense in terms of my script debugging.

Am i missing something?

I'm using Opera 34 and lacking of this CRUCIAL feature, which is making lots of people swearing against developers of Opera. I had, imagine i have 20 tabs open and accidently i hit the close X on the top-right. You can see what happens!

That's totally unacceptable. Any news for this?

I have the same problem with my Opera Mini for S60 version 7.1 using Nokia E55. I constantly get the message: "For your account safety, we temporarily locked your Yahoo account. Please sign in to login.yahoo.com from a desktop computer, tablet, or smartphone to unlock."

With Opera Mobile, no error.

I have the same issue. Having Opera 34, i have 7 opera.exe*32 on my Win7 SP 64-bit box. Is it a multithreading way of processing? I have I7 cpu with 4 cores (8 threads).
