@ivanfraser The eth symbol has appeared on the amazon tracker map again with today's Opera update that got installed earlier.
Seems like every other automatic update I have to manually install with the offline exe.
Just daft.
Anybody trying to address this at all?
I've had no feedback or advice. And it can't just be me and my 2 pcs, considering they're different. One's a MS Surface laptop and the other's an Acer PC.

RE: Strange symbol keeps appearing.Opera for Windows
@sgunhouse Hi. Yes.
It would have said something like "8 stops away". It's Amazon's delivery tracker.
The eth symbols have also appeared on other websites that my wife uses but are so random and she says just normal paragraphs and text. So not necessarily in that kind of live script.
The last thing she saw it in was in a Wordpress blog. -

@leocg I've finally got a wee pic of what I described above, see here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1fdlBjqzf7ZTYwoGqar9BywGh1QUec9JV/view?usp=sharing

RE: Strange symbol keeps appearing.Opera for Windows
@leocg I tried a few times and waited a while and just got an error message as above in the post by ceedee. ![0_1620237439256_Picture1.png](Uploading 100%)
And just tried again, but still get the error.

@sgunhouse The latest update has caused the exact same issue. I'll post a snip of it with the eth appearing on the Amazon tracker:

RE: Strange symbol keeps appearing.Opera for Windows
@sgunhouse Opera was restarted many times without a change in the error.
And it appeared numerous times on the pc which we reboot each morning, so I'm fairly sure that wouldn't work. The first time it happened I ignored it assuming it would just right itself after reboot but it didn't.
An autoupdate in the background for the browser really shouldn't require a pc reboot.

RE: Strange symbol keeps appearing.Opera for Windows
@sgunhouse Thank you. Yes, that's the symbol, the eth. It's definitely a replaced font. It's clear that Opera and my pc supports whatever font is being replaced, as this only happens rarely, and is fixed easily by simply running the manual install of the latest version.
If it occurs again, I will report back with a screen shot and the url. Unfortunately, it's so random, and I fixed it with a manual reinstall of Opera before thinking to come to this forum to ask.
Thanks again for that useful info.

RE: Strange symbol keeps appearing.Opera for Windows
@leocg Windows versions have been the latest 10 versions that have been released for home pc over the last couple of years. Problem cannot be nailed down to a particular OS or version. But it has happened concurrently on both main pc and laptop.
I can't replicate the issue for screen shots or checking disabling extensions etc. because the problem is fixed by a new install.
I didn't do the reset or new install route because the issue is fixed by updating from the manual installation route. That fixes the issue. Going through a new fresh install would lose settings etc and take a lot longer. The Opera version is whatever it is now, but has been in several earlier versions going back over a year.
Cannot add any information that would help address the issue. It is purely a random event that occurs and the question is, has anyone experienced it? Is it common?
Obviously, the fix is to not use auto update but to always use the installer. But it would be better to rely on the autoupdate feature.
