@burnout426 Thanks burnout426. I have also been having this problem for a couple of weeks. I was about to follow your detailed instructions when I noticed your comment at the end citing security/anti-virus/firewall software as a possible issue. I had installed Malwarebytes just a couple of weeks ago. So I have just disabled it for a couple of minutes, and Opera has now updated for me. So thanks again, problem sorted, although I am now wondering what other issues Malwarebytes may be causing me !

RE: My Flow: Can't connect desktop and phone topicOpera for computers
@A Former User said in Opera Flow doesn't work:
Hi, I used Opera on my Asus laptop running windows 11 and Samsung device with android 11. There hasn't been any problems till now. Now Opera flow doesn't work. logging into account syncing etc all works fine. But flow doesn't work. When I scan the QR code on the laptop screen Mobile opera says follow the instructions on your device with some numbers. But no instructions on my laptop or anything. And Opera.com/connect URL doesn't work on laptop eventhough they say to navigate to that URl. Furthermore I would like to say that I tried every single thing on forums and internet. Tried resetting and commpletely reinstalling opera on both devices. Please help me
I had this problem after having to do a factory reset on my mobile due to an unrelated issue. I reinstalled Opera for Android, but Flow on the app would no longer connect with Flow on Opera 89 of my Windows desktop.
I rolled back to Opera 85. Flow then connected between both devices as normal. A few hours later I was alerted to the Opera 89 update. I installed it and the Flow connection remained in place. No further problems since.

Issues with Google/Gmail & uBlock Origin since Opera updateOpera for Windows
Since updating Opera to version 84.0.4316.21 a few hours ago, I started having problems with any Google related pages. For example, with mail.google.com, all I would see was the subject line in any email. The message field was completely blank.
After trying various things, I disabled the uBlock Origin extension and that sorted things. When I enabled it again, the same problems returned.
I have now reinstalled the extension and everything seems fine. Maybe mine was just an isolated case, but I thought I would just mention in case anyone else is puzzled by similar issues since the update.

RE: Everytime I refresh the page on youtube, I get an white screen blink very fast.Opera GX
Do you have the uBlock Origin extension installed ? I was having the white screen issue yesterday with any Google related pages. I eventually pinned it down to an issue with uBlock Origin following an Opera update. Removing and then reinstalling the extension fixed it for me.

@dolanito I have a feeling the autoplay issue might be specific to You Tube rather than to Opera. It is a subject which has been cropping up regularly on Google/You Tube forums for the last few years. Unfortunately discussions are usually locked without any solution being found. Those complaining about the issue are users of various browsers.

RE: Whatsapp: prompt to download appOpera for Windows
Yes, but Opera say "WhatsApp web messenger is built right into the Opera desktop browser, so you can chat and browse easily without downloading anything". Now it is encouraging me to download the app. A link to Microsoft Store now also appears amongst my list of contacts,

Whatsapp: prompt to download appOpera for Windows
When I open the in-built Whatsapp from the sidebar, the opening page now encourages me to download the Whatsapp app for Windows, and gives a link to the Microsoft Store. Is the in-built version coming to an end ?

RE: Opera completely freezes itself and a windows 7Opera for Windows
LindenColl, do you use the uBlock Origin extension ?
I was having similar problems a few weeks ago with Opera freezing after around 10 minutes of inactivity. I couldn't identify the cause.
But when an unrelated problem developed which I could pinpoint to uBlock Origin, I reinstalled that extension and I have not had the freezing issue since.

RE: Screen seems frozen after screen sleepOpera for Windows
Do you by any chance use the uBlock Origin extension ?
I have experienced this same problem for a few weeks, and have been watching this forum to see if anyone finds a fix.
Due to an entirely unrelated problem a couple of days ago which I was able to pin down to uBlock Origin, I removed and then reinstalled the extension. That seemed to fix not only the new problem, but also the issue of the screen freezing after sleep.
