I believe that it is now too late to access your email. As I mentioned above, up until yesterday it was still possible but it now appears that this door has been closed. Now whether the email exists in an archived form on their servers or whether it has simply been deleted is anyone's guess but my gut feeling is, it's too late to retrieve it.

LOL at Opera, you deserve this hate. I said, that many user are using MyOperaMail as their primary e-mail adress, some used the little login window ( not the My Opera Mail startpage ) and they had no chance to see that MyOperaMail will close. Others used E-Mail clients.

So reckless of you that you not mailed @myopera.com.

Now many people lost all their data. I can't understand you Opera. Your spirit has changed and i feel very uncomfortable to use your products. You lost it.....

How could I have known that MyOpera would close because I have not received any warning! Officials MyOpera behaved like amateurs and showed a lack of consideration for users who touches disrespect.

The users received an e-mail warning about the shutdown of My Opera and also there was a notice on My Opera front pages during the last four or five months.

No, they not mailed to @myopera.com - how you can run a mail service and not email the user thru it ? Also, like i said, there was another login possibility without the startpage. When you saved My Opera Mail user interface on Speed Dial you logged in through another log-in window, there where no warnings. And don't forget the people who used mail-clients.

It is inexcusable what Opera did. For many people it was the only Mail-Service and they not emailed the people @myopera.com

I've also had no warning. The only e-mail I've got from Opera is from 2011 welcoming me to the service.

I confirm that the team MyOpera never sent me any email and I had no way of knowing that this service would close.
But maybe the team MyOpera did not know how to send an email to users to officially notify??
Really, they are laughing at us!

No one ever sent an email to my acount or by any other means warned me about this shutting. And i'm an Opera massive user. I have personal and professional cards with this email address printed. This sudden shut down doesn't look good to Opera brand... Please, return the mail server. I don't remember no one ever telling me this email account would be temporary, since i wouldn't ever used it for start.

I do not believe that the company will not present to give an explanation, it would be a grave mistake and irresponsible it may cost the closure of the company.

If you lost your email, really... you have only yourselves to blame. If email is important to you, then back it up on your own machine (especially an external hard drive). I only use webmail and I do this since I don't trust servers to keep it secure. For months Opera have warned us that this would happen. If you are using a free service (and you never paid anything for this) then it was your responsibility to visit the community from time to time to familiarize with what was going down. Don't blame Opera for your own mistakes in judgment.

I can only blame Opera, because i can only make judgements on information i get. And the truth is i got no information about this. It's a terrible lack of communication. Internal communication, by the way. If Opera cannot even communicate within its circle, how can it expect to grow?

Let's not play the blame game, leushino. Whatever the reasons, many people -- it would appear -- haven't been informed and haven't been able to make a backup, and if Opera's in a position to help them out, I think they should.

This crappy service, all design and no content let their users down.
I'll tell anyone. I'm really angry.

This is a copy of the e-mail i received on december 19th 2014 regarding the end of My Opera:

On Thu, 19 Dec 2013 06:54:46 -0200, My Opera wrote:

The explosion of these sites and the amount of resources we need to

home elsewhere, so we have made the decision to shut down My Opera as of
                                    March 1, 2014.

Your My Opera email account will also be discontinued on this date.

On October 31st 2013, there was a post on Opera News (Choose Opera) blog:

When My Opera was launched as a support forum in 2001, it quickly became an important place for us to meet with you. We had >so much great interaction with you that we wanted to do more with our forums and our community. In 2006, we had a silly but >fun idea. "What if we put our forums on steroids? Let's build a site where you can blog, share photos and add each other as >friends." At that time, there were no good services for what we wanted. We decided to build it ourselves.
We saw My Opera grow into a passionate community site. For us, this whole idea of giving you a place where you could blog >and share photos turned into an interesting, and very large, side project. Over the years, we've seen social media and >blogging sites pop up, which offer more and better features than we could possibly maintain. These offerings are their sole >business. You all know their names and you probably use their services already.
The explosion of these sites and the amount of resources we need to maintain our own service has changed our outlook on My >Opera. We had a good run for many years, but we believe your content could have a better home elsewhere, so we have made >the decision to shut down My Opera as of March 1, 2014.
That’s four months from now. We want to give you enough time to move to a new service and to think of what do with your >content.
                                      (...)
What will happen with my My Opera email?
The service will, along with My Opera, be discontinued. In the meantime, we suggest you sign up for a new provider and make >sure to take care of the emails you want to save. Also, it would be a good idea to set up an auto-reply in your My Opera >email to inform your contacts of your new email address.

So, the shutdown of My Opera was publicly announced and they also sent an e-mail to the users.

Not to my address. Anyway, just one email message? When the "team" doesn't believe their own product, why should we?

Just how many times does an email have to be sent to be recognized? Should I tell my billing companies and my friends to send every email at least twice?

I got an email and I also knew from Opera news and many postings on the old forums that this would cease. It was blatantly obvious after being reminded over and over.

Those of you who have not paid attention are now crying and blaming Opera for your lack of basic diligence.

You people may be out of luck. I believe Norwegian privacy laws may prevent Opera from retaining your data.

In this case, one email isn't enough - for not saying no email at all, wich is something you are not managing to recognise. Anyway, I'm sure Opera doesn't need negligent users like ourselves. I'll spread the word.
