Save for off-line reading

I use Opera mini. I really want to be able to save articles for offline reading. The help section says this is possible but when I click (the big, red O) for options, no such function is offered. This ability is very important to me and I want to remain with Opera.
Is it possible please?

If your device is not rooted
it won’t work, search in old myopera forum for related threads. I can only guess that Opera Mini run under Android, btw.
