Contacts greyed out

I've just installed Opera 12.16 on Linux. Imported Contacts from my old Win Opera. That appears to work, but, the Contacts box in the Panels remains greyed out, so I can't see them. I do NOT have Opera set for email, and don't intend to, I just want to see the contacts. Any ideas?

Subscribe to an RSS feed somewhere to enable the mail client, then you'll be able to see Contacts.
