I need functionality to quickly change cookie mode

I basically want to be able to switch from 'Delete upon exit' to 'Accept' temporarily. This is to accept a long term cookie for the sake of logins on trusted websites.

I suspect some programming will be involved?

Unhelpful replies. This should be core functionality of every browser.
