Thanks I love Markdown.
BTW is there an easy way to backup old forums before 3 march ? Especially my subscribed topics ?
I will do it manually otherwise…Also, each time i write in this new forum (Opera 12.16) it sends me to an unknown page with a port number etc.
It actually posts my message but I get an error page and cannot go back to the topic (the history is not kept). -

I couldn't see any "new posts" or "first new post" buttons - either with threads or boards.

Just to add my 2ct.... not only that gravatars, like j7nj7n said, are slowing down viewing sides, from a "Information privacy" POV I consider them evil (alike to Facebook, Google, etc. in general) - if Bots/Them/WhoSoEver hunts me down across my Web Presences, thats one Point - but if I make it easy with highlighting the nodes of connection, that is a NoGo IMHO... Besides, where is the signature option ?-P

The whole "thing" here seems to be not thought proper to finish ... ^^
Hmm, a bit like Opera 15+ then many would say.........

A bit?
Can't believe anybody thought this would be a good replacement for what we had before.
I would say that's exactly like Opera 15+. -

Well, we've been graced with a stripped down version of the old Presto browser, why not a forum to match ?.

Come on it could be much worse.....ok, no, it could not....
It could be based on Disqus…

Oh lord, I've looked at the sources but missed that. Nevertheless - I'm kinda scared by 'lightweightness'...
Plus, anything that includes jQuery disqualifies as actually lightweight. :right:

Good to know that myOpenID doesn't have vanilla flavor anymore. Rss feed for all discussions isn't workable with Opera Mini via port 8081 (though http site has the same layout now but still 'just reload' issue is present if that counts) and it ain't working like http://my.opera.com/community/xml/rss/forum/111 (default atom replaced with rss) where the name of the user is on top of any post. Posts edit mode has a timeout period and also the main forum site, not suited for Opera Mini users. '#' sign at the end of the link can be handled like a perpetuum reload, another drawback. At least 3 links can lead to the same result as page tag, post number or link from discussions page if that counts as href. It's hard to say how can be fixed inconsistent reloads or fake links issue for mobile users with touch/non-touch devices.

Why throw away all that hard work and start over again? Don't you guys have enough to do with rewriting Opera?
We're using an existing forum solution, and I'm guessing it's much easier to maintain than the old My Opera forum. -

I couldn't help but notice that the re-direct page on My Opera (RIP) says -
"We updated our forums for a new and shiny look."I immediately thought that "n" in "shiny" must be a typo and should be a "t"!
(Sorry, couldn't resist.............)

@<a href=https://forums.opera.com/user/haavard "title = haavard"</a>
<a href = https://vivaldi.net/forum/index "title = Vivaldi.net"</a> also uses an existing solution, but it doesn't look like a POS, and has quick links, quoting, bbCode, and all the other stuff people need.
People have to acquire a whole new skill set even to format a post here.

Markup or markdown sucks.
That seals it fore me. I haven't got time to learn new skills just to find my way through a morasse of spam in order to help users get to grips with Opera — whether that's the new version or the old one.
