Tab drag & drop changed - always attaches, never opens new window

I think this was a change introduced with the side-by-side mode (which I've disabled). I run several monitors, and frequently drag tabs between them as I'm researching topics.
Previously it was very easy to drag tabs out of Opera, and either:
- Attach them to an existing Opera window by hovering over the tab bar and dropping the tab where you wanted it.
- Or open a new window by dropping them anywhere that wasn't on the top tab bar.
Now it's impossible to open a new window without creating a blank area on the screen first so I can drop the tab outside of Opera. It basically forces option #1 every time, regardless of where you drop the tab, and is a frustrating loss of functionality.
It used to be so easy to use this to turn a tab into a new window on its own, and I can't find any way to disable this new feature and revert to the old behaviour. I hoped that disabling side-by-side mode would fix this, but it's made no difference.

Adding to this, what could be even better would be adding options to manage this when you right-click on a tab title. Notepad++ has this feature and it works extremely well. For example, a tab menu with options:
- Move to split screen
- Move to new window
- Copy to split screen
- Copy to new window
An even more advanced option would be move to or copy to an existing instance. Listing all open Opera instances with the name of the current tab would work well.
