Hello,
Opera just updated to:
Opera One(version: 127.0.5778.14)
Opera is up to date
Update stream:Stable
System:Windows 11 64-bit
Chromium version:143.0.7499.194All passwords are gone. Password saving feature works and saves new passwords but old ones disappeared. I did not use OperaSync. Never had an issue before.
I found old Login Data file in default Opera folder but it seems OperaOne does not read it.
Any fix for this? Its years of passwords...

@leocg said in Lost passwords after latest update (OperaOne):
opera://password-manager/passwords
No, just two new passwords that I created during troubleshooting..

I fixed, here is how:
First what did not work:
- password recovery tools such as Chrome Pass, WebBrowserPassView and others claiming to decrypt Login Data file if used on the same PC and installation. They did decrypt user names however not and passwords.
Make a folder where you gonna do recovery
Download & install Shadow Explorer
Open Opera and go to Meny (O)/Help/About to see Profile LocationIn shadow explorer find the date when everything was ok and find opera folder in the profile location as shown in step above.
Copy entire Opera folder to the folder we created above. Now go to your Opera and backup anything else you need such as Favorites etc.
Find on the Internet and download full installer (its 130mb or so) of the older Opera release if your password problem occurred after upgrade to latest version. Do not install yet.
Copy and print this guide as we need to disconnect Internet for a bit.uninstall current installation, go to Profile Location we found before, find and delete Opera Stable folder
disconnect Internet and install old Opera we just downloaded, we need to be off the Internet as Opera will update to new version as soon as we open it, we do not want to do this before we retrieve passwords.
Once installed let it run and than close Opera.
Copy Opera Stable folder that we extracted with Shadow Defender
Fin Profile Location path again and locate and delete Opera Stable folder, paste at the same place one we recovered with Shadow Explorer.
Now run Opera and passwords will work.
Go to Passwords/Settings and export passwords and save them on PC and some other safe place, be careful because exported file is not encrypted. Now connect Internet and run opera, let it update.
There you go. This fixed my problem and copying only Login Data file from Shadow Explorer did not work, anyway this did.
Do not forget to setup Opera Sync so at least you have another layer of backup.
