As shown in the figure, the extension I am using is "Popup my Bookmarks", and the icons of bookmarks cannot be displayed.
It is worth mentioning that this issue exists in version 8.1.1, but it does not exist in version 7.1.1

Not only this extension, but also other extensions related to bookmarks will encounter this problem, such as "Bookmarkie" and "Quick Bookmarks Menu".

      OS:Windows 11

@burnout426 yes, these extensions will encounter his problem. In fact, this issue has been around for one or two years and has not been fixed, so I posted for help

Okay. I tried with Popup My Bookmarks.

I went to arstechnica.com, clicked the heart and bookmarked the page to "other bookmarks" in Opera.

I then clicked the Popup My Bookmarks extension icon and went to "other bookmarks".

Result: The Ars Technica bookmark is there, but it's missing its favicon to the left.

Examining the chrome-extension://mppflflkbbafeopeoeigkbbdjdbeifni/popup.html page, for the extension, when it tries to load the favicon for that bookmark via the URL:

            chrome-extension://mppflflkbbafeopeoeigkbbdjdbeifni/_favicon/?pageUrl=https%3A%2F%2Farstechnica.com%2F&size=32

            , the console shows:

            _favicon/?pageUrl=https%3A%2F%2Farstechnica.com%2F&size=32:1  GET chrome-extension://mppflflkbbafeopeoeigkbbdjdbeifni/_favicon/?pageUrl=https%3A%2F%2Farstechnica.com%2F&size=32 net::ERR_FAILED
            Image
            lY @ common.js:9
            e @ common.js:9
            (anonymous) @ common.js:9
            sL @ common.js:9
            sS @ common.js:9
            S @ common.js:33
            P @ common.js:33

So, there's an error fetching the image for some reason in Opera. Works fine in Chrome.

With chrome-extension://mppflflkbbafeopeoeigkbbdjdbeifni/js/common.js, I can jump to the lines in it from the console error links, but I'm not really seeing the cause of the error. I'll have to file a bug to have someone check it out.

The Github page for the extension is at https://github.com/foray1010/Popup-my-Bookmarks and an issue could be filed there. But, I think it might be on Opera's end, especially since other extensions are affected.

@burnout426 Thank you, may I ask if someone solves this problem and it will be added to the version update in the future? Of course, if a solution can be found

@leocg Sorry to bother you, may I ask about the progress on fixing this bug? Has a solution been found yet? Actually, Opera browser is really great to use and I love it a lot, but this bug keeps appearing in my workflow, which is making me a bit frustrated

@pinkzhang I guess we will know when the bug ID appears listed on a changelog.

According to my testing, this is fixed in Opera Developer 128.0.5806.0 so far (even though it's not mentioned in the changelog).

If you want to test, you can download "Opera_Developer_128.0.5806.0_Setup_x64.exe" from https://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera-developer/128.0.5806.0/win/, launch it, click "options", adjust the options to your liking and install. Opera Developer will install to its own folder and use its own data and settings, and will not mess with your normal Opera.

You don't have to test though. Just if you want to.

It'll take a while yet before the fix gets to the stable version of Opera though.
