How do I stop Opera for Mac from using Spanish Wikipedia for search?

Typing "w [search query]" (without quotation marks) in the URL bar and hitting return searches Wikipedia for whatever "[search query]" is. For some reason, it uses Spanish Wikipedia to do so, and I haven't been able to change this setting.
My OS language is British English. My computer's region is set to the United Kingdom. My keyboard setup is British English. I am currently in Germany. Why is Opera using Spanish Wikipedia? (This behaviour is not specific to the time I have been in Germany.)
Technical info:
macOS version: 26.0
Opera version: 122.0.5643.92 (arm64), but the problem has been present since previous versions
Thanks in advance. -

If you are comfortable editing configuration files (use this with caution, as it is a deeper fix):
Type opera://about in the address bar and note the path for Profile.
Close Opera completely.
Navigate to that profile folder and look for a file named Local State.
Open this file in a text editor (like TextEdit on Mac).
Search for the entry: "location": and specifically the country codes like "country":"es" or "country_from_server":"ES".
If you find Spanish codes, try changing them to "country":"gb" and "country_from_server":"GB".
Save the file and restart Opera
