The ability to rearrange the built-in apps (Messengers, AI services, etc.) in the Opera sidebar is currently not available, as their order is largely fixed by the browser's design. This is a crucial feature request for users who need to prioritize their workflow. The current best workaround is to use the Settings menu (opera://settings/sidebar) to toggle off the services you don't use, which reduces clutter and focuses attention on your preferred apps.

RE: doesn't have the VPN featureOpera for computers
The built-in VPN feature is missing from the Chinese version of Opera due to local internet regulations, and the browser often disables it even if you try to install the international version. To gain access to the global internet (like Google Search), you must use a dedicated, external VPN application installed directly on your computer, which will securely route all your internet traffic outside the country's network filters.

RE: xbox controller compatibilitySuggestions and feature requests
Opera GX supports Xbox controllers for web-based games via the Gamepad API. However, it currently lacks native support for using the controller to navigate the browser's user interface (tabs, sidebar, address bar, etc.). To use the controller for full UI control, you must rely on third-party workarounds, most effectively by adding Opera GX as a Non-Steam Game and using Steam's Controller Configuration tools to map the gamepad buttons to keyboard and mouse commands.

RE: Can you backup workspaces so they can be reinstalled on another PC?Opera for computers
You cannot directly sync Workspaces with tabs using Opera Sync, so a manual migration is required. The process has two key parts:
Backup Tabs: Manually save all open tabs within each Workspace to a uniquely named Speed Dial folder. Then, export all Bookmarks (which includes these folders) to an HTML file.
Migrate Profile: Copy the entire Opera Profile folder (found via opera://about) from the old PC to the corresponding location on the new Windows 11/Parallels installation.
After migration, your Workspace names and settings should appear, and you can re-import the HTML file to the new browser, allowing you to open the saved tabs into the correct Workspaces.

RE: Ctrl + Tab and split screenSuggestions and feature requests
The issue is that when you switch away from a Split Screen view using Ctrl + Tab, the browser does not recognize the split group as the "most recently used" tab element, so pressing Ctrl + Tab again fails to cycle back to it. This appears to be a bug or oversight in the feature's implementation. The current workaround is to manually click the combined tab header or the associated Tab Island to return to the split view.

RE: Allow to put speed dials anywhere on the screenSuggestions and feature requests
The suggestion to allow free placement of Speed Dial tiles anywhere on the screen (like app icons on iOS/Android) is not currently possible, as Opera GX uses a fixed grid layout (rows and columns). This feature would greatly enhance the aesthetic and functional customization of the browser. While you wait for a potential developer update, you can currently only customize the number of columns, the alignment (Left/Right/Auto), and use folders to organize the existing grid.

RE: Allow to put sidebar on the rightSuggestions and feature requests
Currently, there is no built-in option to move the Opera sidebar from the left to the right, despite this being a highly requested feature by the community, especially due to conflicts with left-aligned web application UIs (like those found in WordPress). The best available workaround is to enable the "Automatically hide the sidebar" setting (found in Easy Setup/Settings), which ensures the sidebar disappears when not actively in use, minimizing interference with web page elements.

RE: Get opera to use old snap current on new computer (Kubuntu)Opera for Linux
The issue stems from the Snap system automatically managing the current link to point to the newest, default configuration directory (406), overriding your manual link to the old folder (395). The fix is to bypass the link management and manually copy the contents of your old profile directory (~/snap/opera/395/.config/opera/) directly into the new profile directory (~/snap/opera/406/.config/opera/). This ensures the new Opera installation loads your old data while respecting the Snap's file structure.

RE: [Duplicated]None of ctrl+enter, alt+enter, shift+enter combinations workOpera for Windows
The failure of Ctrl+Enter (for .com auto-fill) and Alt/Shift+Enter (for opening in new tabs/windows) is a known, active bug in recent versions of Opera that is widely reported by the user community. There is no user-setting fix; the only real solution is to ensure your browser is running the latest possible update (as a fix is likely being tested or rolled out) and use the Ctrl+Click/Enter method as a temporary workaround for opening a link in a new tab.
