Opera for Windows keeps resetting default browser setting after reboot

Hi all,

I’m running the latest version of Opera on Windows 11, and I’ve noticed that every time I restart my PC, Opera forgets that it’s set as my default browser. I have to go into the Windows settings and set it again manually after every reboot.

I’ve already:

-Set Opera as default from within the browser

-Set it via Windows Settings > Default Apps

-Tried running Opera as administrator

Still, after every restart, Windows seems to revert to Microsoft Edge or simply removes the default browser setting altogether.

Has anyone experienced this issue? Is there a fix or a workaround?

It's could be something with Windows itself, but you can try https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/wiki/opera/clean_opera_from_windows/ if you want.
