Open link in new tab still loading very very slowly

There is nothing wrong with my internet connection or windows. I have a very fast 5G connection. When I directly open web pages, they open fine. But when I click on a link to open in a new tab, that new tab won't load until you actually go to the tab. I've uninstalled the last updated 119 version of Opera and re-installed v117. Everything works and loads correctly with that version using all the same settings and preferences. The tab loading issue started when Opera automatically updated to version 118. Something was changed in Opera to cause this. If this can't be resolved, I wish I could prevent Opera from automatically updating.
