I've tried both and each seems to do the job quite well.

Does anyone else have any opinions in terms of efficiency and resources?

uBlock seems to be getting a LOT of good word-of-mouth these days, notably for efficiency and resources. Their wiki makes for interesting reading.

I use Adblock Plus.

All of them are great ad-blockers, but I prefer AdGuard, because it has the best phishing protection I've ever seen in a product of it's category. Also, it consumes less RAM than the best-known extensions like AdBlock Plus and AdBlock. But I must say: if the phishing protection isn't that necessary for you, uBlock is the best choice.
