I am running Opera 26 on Fedora (using Russian repos) with KDE using an Oxygen-dark scheme. The URL bar shows a black background but still shows the default black text & is therefore impossible to read.

Is there a way to fix this? There used to be a workaround in old Opera using the opera:config#FileSelector|DialogToolkit option but this is now gone?

Please address this problem in the future if it can't be worked around in the current release, as this is a major usability hindrance for those of us on black/dark themes!

      Thanks,
      Jason

        Hi,
This issue has been addressed in 27, so my suggestion would be to install current beta
or wait a little longer for stable 27.
        Regards,
        Łukasz

Opera has several problems when you use themes, in Linux. I also had this problem when I used KDE. You also get problems in the tab menu when you are using the Numix theme in Ubuntu, the text gets the same color as the background, and then you can't see it.

Cool, grabbed the 27 beta and it's working fine. Nice to see that issue resolved!

Is there a way to make the beta use the config files & extensions that I've already installed for 26?

Hmm ... not sure about extensions, but most other files you should just be able to copy over.

                Confirmed.

I just upgraded to Opera 27 (direct download - not the version Opera 26 in standard Repos).

So far it looks just as I'd expect (rather spanky and shiny) - can read the url bar. It's light (rather than dark, as with Firefox/Chromium browsers) but still - good work.

Maybe some themes will darken it nicely - I'm off to play.

Welcome back, Opera - I've been away for a very long time.
