High CPU usage when opening a Speed Dial

Every time I open Speed Dial through new tab my CPU usage triples, every default browser animation lags and if I'm opening folder it becomes even worse. The only "features" I have enabled is custom wallpaper and sidebar, and my Speed Dial has literally nothing besides dials and some folders (less than 50 total). Hardware acceleration is disabled, and I don't feel like enabling it if my browser can't even work properly by itself (my PC specs are gamer enough).
