This happened a few hours ago, logging me out of every site except for one. The saved passwords were gone and so, apparently, were the cookies.

How do I recover the passwords that your sorry excuse for a browser managed to lose? Also, am I going to get a timely, genuinely helpful response, or are you going to do to me what you did to a previous user, who reported a similar problem, was ignored for a few weeks, and then was told that it was too late to recover the lost data.

If I sound annoyed, yes, I am. Immediately after your browser messed up, I went looking for answers to the question of how to fix what it broke, and discovered that this lost password issue is one that goes back at least four years. Are any of you familiar with the idea of taking responsibility for the work you do?

Data losses are a scandal when they happen briefly. This one has been happening for four years. When do you plan to fix it? Do you plan to fix it, at all? It is 2:34 am, my time, and dealing with your unprofessional bulls -- t has cost me at least four hours of sleep tonight. This was not OK.
