I added DOT VPN to my Opera Browser but I cannot sign in using my Opera Account IDS. My extension is there and enabled. Since I cannot sign in I cannot use the VPN. Thanks

Presumably you need to register an account with them, and log in to their service using that account. You only use your Opera account to log into Opera's services (like this forum).

Thanks for the info. I thought the Opera account and the DOT were the same. I guess not so I need to rephrase my discussion. It should say then: "when ever I try to open an account using the red DOT Icon on Opera, I cannot sign up and nothing happens when I click on Get Started". Thanks for the help link, I will give it a try.

I still cannot join Dot VPN. Nothing happens when I apply with my email address, the cursor just spins and spins.

Try contact DotVPN through their page: https://dotvpn.com/en/faq/
In the extension's page there is a complain about not being able to sign up just below your first comment there.
I've just tested ands was able to signup using Opera developer 28.

I did find the "feedback" site and did make a feedback twice but have not heard from dotvpn as yet. What is Opera 28? Maybe I should download that? Thanks.

I've juste checked with beta 27 and also was able to signup and the extension seems to be working fine. I also noticed that it was updated yesterday.
So check if yours were already updated and try again or just wait for Opera 27 to be released in the stable stream.
