mp3 -files won't play
opera 28.0 won't play mp3 -files. Instead the mp3-files are shown as text. What can I do?
OS: Linux Mint 17.1
Thanks for help.
MP3 is not a "free" format, to avoid having to pay royalties Opera does not include it. There is a discussion elsewhere in this forum about recompiling libffmpeg to support some additional formats, but I can't say if that includes MP3 audio as I don't recall it being specifically mentioned. See if you can find it ...
For Opera 28 DEVELOPER you have to install current ffmpeg 2.5.2.
