make Opera work with NordVPN

I have used opera as long as I can remember since the internet started ?
Now just because I choose to use an external VPN provider (Nord) Opera is useless, regardless of whether I am connected to the vpn, Opera either fails to connect to sites, or behaves erratically, has errors, won't show whole pages. It is ridiculous. I have stopped using Opera until this gets resolved.
