How to revert?

  • Opera 26 is a disaster. The nice, sensible bookmark management of V12 and earlier is gone. The import to v26 just created a jumbled mess. The info I had put int eh notes fields for bookmarks is completely gone.

How do I revert to V12 before I just dump Opera all together.

I used Opera as my main browser on Win and Mac for a very long time (10 yrs+), but this v 26 seems to have dropped features in favor of cuteness.

  • You can download older versions of Opera here: http://www.opera.com/download/?os=mac&list=all

  • And to to revert to a previous version?
There is no way to go back and no way to disable auto-update…
Version 27 for Mac is released full of bugs, we cannot even use the bookmarks menu anymore.

It is lacking of built-in basic features such sharing a web page by email or syncing with icloud.

Plus it is not even support MP2/H264 on Mac OS X under 10.9 …

Can you clarify what you mean by this?

MP3 and H264 playback are supported on OS X 10.9.

Well from version 27, on any version of Mac OS X, the bookmarks are not clickable from the menu : selecting them will not load the page…

But for any Mac OS X version in Safari…

    Really? They work for me.

I've not seen this behavior before, can you say a bit more about the system you're using and what 'not clickable' means? Are they greyed out? If they aren't, what happens exactly when you click them?

But for any Mac OS X version in Safari…

Yes, this is due to factors out of our control: certain APIs for playing H264 videos were not made available by Apple in versions of OS X < 10.9, which means Opera can't use the system libraries to play these videos. It should be noted that more than 90% of our users are on OS X >= 10.9 though.
