Pinned tab gets muted if it's playing sound and I try to switch to it.

If I pin a tab and that tab is playing some sound, it will constantly show the volume icon on it and once I switch over to that tab instead of switching the tab would simply get muted.

Pin tabs should be mutable, but only by click right-clicking on it and not through the music icon.

      Here's a video of what I mean: https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/w6fmzvrum5n31u580apzu/opera_2024-06-17_01-08-56.mp4?rlkey=2859ge5wffudffaplqnc4bhr4&dl=0

It also makes it harder to switch between the tab if music is running in the pinned tab.

I know this topic is a bit old, but the issue remains unresolved. You basically get stuck if a pinned tab is playing sound, which creates a confusing and poor user experience.

Maybe if the tab is pinned, and it's playing sound, Opera team can add a little extra room on the tab for the sound icon. We need enough room to select the tab without getting stuck in the mute/unmute loop.

Ah yes, it also drives me crazy. I thought this is Chromium specific behavior, but it is Opera specific behavior.

When hovering such tab, we can see Opera overlay. This is where the mute button could be located:

This way clicking on tab would bring back default behavior of switching to tab, and provide easy way to mute tab without switching to it

@JakubBr This is a great idea and would be an easy solution to implement, since they already have all that space there.
