Shortcut to Search Bar in Start Page

Much like Chrome has [/] as a shortcut to its search bar, Opera (GX) could implement such a feature. I am prone to opening lots of new tabs with [Ctrl + T] and closing them with [Crtl + W], so the need to use my mouse to search for something (I need to pick it up and move the cursor to the search bar) is breaking up the flow.
Edit: I frequently use Full Screen, where the search bar is not automatically clicked. -

Are you talking about focusing the address field to search in it? If so, the standard shortcut for that is ctrl + L with alt + d as alternative. The address field isn't available in fullscreen mode though unless you do some tab/shift + tab nonsense blindly.
Or, are you talking about the search field on the start page?

@burnout426 I am talking about the search field on the start page. As far as I know, there is no shortcut to focus it.
Google Chrome, however, does - just pressing [/] lets me begin typing up a search. -

@unilever Thanks for the clarification. You can hit tab to focus it or hit F9 first to focus the page if the page isn't focused and then hit tab.
Then, after that, when hitting ctrl + t to open a new tab, the field might be focused automatically (depending on what you were doing). Not saying it's a solution, but a workaround.

@burnout426 I just tried that out - it works. And I get what you're saying when you say it's a workaround.
My gratitude is immense.
