bookmarks missing, how to get them back?

hi! doing this on behalf of my mom since neither of us can figure it out. she got a new pc the other day and we synced everything from her laptop to the new one however shes missing a whole folder of bookmarks and now its not showing up on the original laptop either. shes really stressed as it had some very important sites saved for her business and shes opening a group for it tomorrow and needs some of the sites she had bookmarked. they were ones shes not able to get back to by searching them up
