Sync overwrote my bookmarks

today i updated my Opera One from 107.* to version: 108.0.5067.20
System:macOS Version 14.2.1 (Build 23C71) 14.2.1 x86_64
Chromium version:122.0.6261.95then i started syncing (it was off for some reason). as a result all my current local bookmarks got overwritten, not merged, with upstream – i've lost a huge amount of my significant data.
could i restore it somehow?

i turned off my sync, now opera doesn't update my passwords. everyday i have to update them manually. opera, what's wrong??
