Blank Screen - Cant use

In trying to open Opera through the Desctop Shortcut icon (have always used this one) I get a blank screen that can't even close. Have to go through Task Manager to End Task.
In rare occasions I can open it by double clicking very fast on the mouse, but fails 90% of times.
Run Windows 7, 64 bits. opera upgraded to Opera_95.0.4635.90_Setup.exe
Love Opera, and would like to keep using it.Any advice
