Connecting to VPN on wifi

Hi all! I'm new to Opera GX and bought the VPN so I could access blocked sites while at school due to the amount of sites that they block. It's become apparent that the wifi itself is blocking my connection to the VPN as a whole. Could anyone provide me with a way around this?
Note: I do not have access to administrator controls for the wifi itself.

Entering a new realm with Opera GX, I recently acquired the VPN service to overcome the limitations imposed by my school's Wi-Fi, which restricts access to certain sites. However, it appears that the Wi-Fi itself is impeding my connection to the VPN. Unfortunately, I lack access to administrator controls for the Wi-Fi network. In an attempt to navigate this obstacle, I've experimented with different VPN protocols within Opera GX's settings, hoping to find one that might circumvent the network restrictions. Additionally, I've considered the possibility of utilizing obfuscated servers if provided by Opera GX or exploring alternative VPN services known for their efficacy in bypassing network blocks. If all else fails, I might resort to web proxies, though I recognize the need for caution in selecting a reputable service to safeguard both privacy and security. It's essential to tread carefully and be mindful of potential repercussions, and if challenges persist, seeking assistance from the school's IT support or consulting with someone familiar with the network setup may be prudent.

@jeedfeed Navigating the constraints of my school's Wi-Fi, I've explored Opera GX's VPN features, experimenting with protocols and considering obfuscated servers. Prioritizing privacy, I'm cautious about potential risks and, if needed, will explore alternative VPN services. In the face of persistent challenges, seeking assistance from the school's IT support remains a prudent option.
