full aspect ratio movies

hi, i have a wide screen monitor. its 2k technically (1080p wide). movies on most streaming services, and some movies*. will run the movie with an aspect ratio capable to fill my wide screen but instead run 21:9 on a 4:3 monitor space. leaving a big border around the entire movie using such a small of the screen. I'm wondering if there is extensions that will force streaming services to use device aspect ratios or even just 16:9 i could deal with side borders. i also might add if there is no such thing if its possible that opera staff sees my cry for help and blesses me with a built in option (if there isn't already :)). trying to watch rush hour on binge and its not the greatest. i do assume that the streaming service most like caps quality for bandwidth reasons or if the movie is only 720p. obv would look very shit if it was stretched then id assume. but smart televisions and devices of this day to have scaling software/hardware. sorry for sounding like a scratched record but is there software to scale ratio on third party streaming services if not thats alright not to stressed or ready to hound just curious for the occasional ease of my sloth life:) love ya, thank ya

my native resolution is 2560 x 1080p. I changed it to 1920 x 1080p, everything is stretched but 1080p movies using 21:9 ratio now only have horizontal borders. so I kind of solved it lol
