      Naughty button.jpg
Can anyone instruct me how to remove the much confusing and highly unnecessary button indicated with the arrow? Not only does it cause havoc for new users but also it's much too close to other buttons - just few pixels between New Tab and Close Tab buttons.

Besides going to the URL opera://settings/userInterface, disabling "Automatically create tab islands" and not manually creating any tab islands, there's no way to get rid of it.

Thanks. However, I've already tried it to no avail. It seems someone at Opera had a'genius' idea and went through with it.

@operagotcrazy You move all tabs out of their islands so you no longer have any islands and you still see that extra + button?

If so, goto the URL opera://about, take note of the "profile" path, close Opera and delete the "Sessions" folder in the profile folder. That should wipe out all tabs and clear your recently-closed tabs list. Then, you shouldn't see that extra + button anymore unless you create a tab island.
