Grey fields on web pages that cover everything

Hello!
I am writing this text in Deepl
I am 63 years old and live in Saxony. Is this forum also available in German?
I've been using Opera for years, I really like this browser and I'm certainly a creature of habit.
Recently, grey fields on the web pages have become a constant annoyance.
I mean, especially on the websites where I can be active, webmailer ...or Whats App, grey fields are now constantly jumping around.
Sometimes they cover the whole page, sometimes they are narrow strips, sometimes everything is partially covered.
I'm not sure when this started, it was only annoying with Gmail at first. I literally had to type into a fog.
If I move the cursor back and forth or click in another area, the fields disappear briefly.
The problem doesn't exist with Firefox.
That's why I suspect that something is wrong with Opera.
Does anyone know of this problem?I also think it happened a long time ago, but before it got really annoying, it disappeared again.

There's a German section at https://forums.opera.com/category/34/deutsch where you can post in German if you like.

Goto the URL
opera://settings/system
, disable hardware acceleration and restart Opera to test if the problem goes away. -

@omaof6 Awesome. If that's the case, you can turn hardware acceleration back on and adjust the Angle flag for your GPU to see if you can solve the issue while keeping hardware acceleration on. That way, if successful, you can solve the issue while keeping performance. Up to you though.
