On one of my PCs (Windows10) a new update was automatically installed. Immediately afterwards I could not open any website, except the preferred search engines. Even the AI for reporting a problem does not work. I'm working with Opera on another PC, where the update is not yet installed. How can i stop autoupdate, till the problem is solved?
By the way, it is the second big bug sind three or for month. And this one ist still harder. What is going on with opera? Someone there, who wants to ruin the browser?

104.0.4944.36 has been out for a week and has been working fine for me on Windows 11 22H2, for what it's worth.

Could be your firewall is blocking connections for Opera since opera.exe is now in a folder named "104.0.4944.36" instead of "104.0.4944.33". What firewall are you using?

You can roll back to the previous version of Opera if you want to test if that previous version still works or not.

I'm using Norton 360 Firewall. I switch it off. But nothing changed. Some details of websites, For example on Youtube you can choose a video, the video doesn't wor, but you hear the audio. You cannot scroll down, if there's something shown, which is rare.

Thanks to you, burnout425. for the link to the Reddit-post. It took me a time, becaise I#m not used to it, but i reinstalled the older version and it (stil)l works. On my other computer i changed to a Windows 11-version. Maybe its a problem of compatibility with windows. The other one i cannot change to Windows 11, although its just 2 years old.

Okay. On the problem Windows 10 machine, I would do a test standalone installation of 104.4944.36 to a folder named "Opera Test" on your desktop and see if it runs fine there. It won't interfere with your regular Opera installation.

Is that test installation of 104.4944.36 messed up to or is that one fine?

After the actual update (version 105.4970.21 had the same problem, i tried your recommendations. And then I found the problem in the settings of Opera - By setting optimization of videos and pictures from on to off everything goes. Thanks a lot.

@fredfiddler Are you talking about lucid mode for images and videos at the URL opera://settings/lucidMode?

Yes, since in the german vision it's called "Videoptimierung" I think in the englisch version it is called 'lucid mode'.
