[Compilation]Data Loss After An Update/Upgrade

@ledsalesoz Thanks a lot! for bringing up Vivaldi. Tested it the last week. It works perfectly and definitely will substitute Opera on my new notebook. Lost my tabs about four times more, and although TabHamster makes it easy to restore them, I won´t waste any more time on a browser with so many bugs and questionable data security.

In https://forums.opera.com/topic/60169/reopen-multiple-closed-windows-with-many-tabs/12
I've posted a CMD file which helps you to copy all latest session + tabs files away before you start Opera with this helper. I've no experience with Session Buddy. Maybe later.Using Opera since version 6.

@tinnted Vivaldi has it! And it is more reliable to work, i think
@tinnted said in [Duplicated]Lost tabs in workspace and all open tabs in browser:
@ledsalesoz I did not know vivaldi has workspaces, but I do remember liking their side by side tab layout system which was unique and useful. I will try it as well then. Thanks for the remainder
Edit: Found out that vivaldi has support for portable installation along with option to being able to use it as default browser. -

I have been using Opera One for three months now. For some time now my workspaces have been deleted. I solved it from an image. Today it happened to me once again. I searched for a simple session saving function... but there isn't one. I don't understand how a "Stable" version can have so many bugs and shortcomings. Luckily I also use Vivaldi. Its workspaces function is much better developed and stable. In addition to the fact that they can be customized with their own themes for each workspace. Until Opera does not return to the path of seriousness, I continue with Vivaldi browser. Regards.

@vegelund I cant speak for everyone here but I do use bookmarks, workspaces and speed dail groups . And, on top of that I even tried to make opera work by using portable version with backup software taking snapshots of whole software daily but when you are loosing tabs very frequently it becomes a problem you should not have to deal with.
Also, you have never tried to save 20 to 30 tabs at once in bookmarks otherwise you would understand how big of a nuisance that is. And when times comes for you to use them you have to open them all and then change, delete etc the bookmarks induvidually again when you want to close browser. You cant select multiple tabs at once and add them to new folder in bookmarks either, doing induvidually is nightmare. And also clutters the bookmarks.
Edit:Your suggestion for using youtube playlist is not solid either. i think your suggestions are more reliability oriented rather than ease of use oriented. When things get complicated the ease of use plays a big role. By your logic there is no need for workspaces in opera because we can do that with bookmarks.

Recently there has been new problem. I am loosing tabs but only in first workspace.
I am not using the browser extensively(not default/main browser) so I dont know if the old problem of loosing all tabs is still a thing. I open daily after my backup of browser folder finishes to check if the browser still has my tabs. I have to check becasue I only store 4 snapshots so if I ever left it unchecked and browser loose tabs then none of the snapshots will be useful. -

The 103.0.4928.16 auto install lost all my personalization! Now I have to uninstall it, install 101.0.4880.58 and then manually download and install the new one and hope for the best, or just stay on 101.0.4880.58, if I want my bookmarks, extensions, etc. Ugh. Is there was way to turn off the automatic installations? So that I can monitor whether people are losing their personalization with each new version, as seems to be the case too often, before manually downloading and installing, if seemingly safe?
In this thread: Is 102.0.4880.70 safe to install in terms of losing user data? it has been explained that the file structure of Opera is the culprit, and 103.0.4928.16 doesn't fix that. Elsewhere it has been suggested that Profile Migration is the problem, or lack thereof, or corrupted migration. One poster suggested installing Chrome to see how it is done properly, the format of the file structure, and possibly editing the Opera supporting file structure to fix that. See the cited thread. Anyone? Help! -

So I am back on 101.0.4843.58 (not 4880) and everything is back, BUT I have a pending install, I see, not of my choice, an auto install, probably to 103....16. Will it have my personalization in it? God knows. I am inclined to manually download and install it, rather than allow the auto install to happen. Maybe it is six of one, and half a dozen of the other. Who knows? Guess I will try it my way. Why did the first auto install lose me all my personalization? Probably all my files are corrupted, as now one else is weighing in on this, so I presume that no one else is losing their personalization.

Well, that worked. I am now on 103.0.4928.16 with all my personalization back, having manually downloaded and installed it, but no idea if that had anything to do with it. Uninstalling 103, and going back to 101.0.4853.58 did, not doubt. Looking over the profile files' structure, they appear the same, so I can't tell what was fixed by uninstalling and going back to the old reliable version then going forward. Ugh. What a pain Opera is becoming. If it were not for a particular extension which works on Opera, but not on other browsers, like Firefox and Edge--although I have not tried Chrome, I would have given up by now.

I updated Opera to include VPN, only to find my speed dialling tabs have all been deleted, replaced with useless tabs that I do not want. What a waste of my time! If this is what Opera does then its time I moved on. Pathetic!

I had closed Opera One, and later re-opened it without restarting my computer. Everything in Opera has completely reset back to default. It even had to do an update which I had previously done.
Everything is gone:
- history
- bookmarks
- saved passwords
- Setting
It's as though I am on a new computer. Any ideas on what happened and if it can be reset? I tried to do a "recovery" and that didn't work.

I opened Opera today and lost all the tabs I had open. I was not logged in into my google account anymore, I lost my workspaces, I lost my bookmarks, I lost my extensions,... It's as if I had reinstalled Opera. I had the same problem when upgrading from Opera to Opera One so I guess there was some kind of update.
After I logged into my opera account I at least got my history, workspaces and bookmarks back. It's really a hassle to reopen all my tabs I had open to either save a website or join in a later session. Also the Homepage button is missing which I don't like in the new opera.

I got mine to work by selecting all in the Opera stable appdata roaming file and deselecting the default. and copying all into the default. All were restored including my addons. No cookies were saved. This was a complete restore to almost normal
