When tab selected, it shifts to the left and causes cancel from cursor

This has been going on for s a long time. I finally decided to report it.
On my laptop I have 30 or more tabs open at once.
When I click a tab, it opens the window but the tab shifts left directly under the cursor, which deletes the window. This doesn't occur all the time, but often enough that I just can't take it anymore. If it shifted to the right, there would be no problem.
